Our 2023 Follow-Up Inquiry reveals significant opportunities for improvement in compliance with annual notice obligations. Although some insurers reduced breaches by enhancing systems and processes, others showed less progress, indicating that improvements remain necessary.

Many insurers considered the recommendations in the original inquiry of 2022 seriously, but some appear to have fallen short. Over the next year, we will focus on addressing significant non-compliance among certain insurers and ensuring they rectify their systems and procedures. An ongoing commitment to better customer outcomes begins with reviews and genuine efforts to improve. This report highlights the remaining challenges and encourages better practices in the pursuit of better customer outcomes.
